Rockwell was awfully quiet this afternoon after nap time, I found him in a mess of toilet paper.

It reminds me of my favorite children's book.

...Adenoids, Tonsils?! Unfortunately, yes.

Poor babies are chronically sick with ear nose and throat infections, so we finally got surgeries schedule for both. Rockwell had his adenoids removed and tubes in his ears bright and early this morning. Our angel baby was a huge hit with the nurses, until it was time to wake up from the anesthesia. Then it was hard, poor guy. He's sleeping it off now. The surgery went well. Thanks for all those who prayed.

Nola has her tonsil, adenoid, and tube surgery scheduled on Aug 6th at Children's Hospital in Denver. There was only one ENT specialist in town that would do the surgery on a two year old and we were all set with her, until she went on bed rest expecting twins. So we had to get a new doctor at Children's. It turned out that the new doc actually trained our ENT gal in the Springs, so it all worked out.

Don't try this at home. I took a camera video of Nola composing a song about the big rocks (Garden of the Gods) and a teddy bear. I couldn't resist. The only catch is that I was driving while filming. So if you get motion sick, you may want to pass on watching this. It ends with Nola putting me in my place.

5th of July

We planned to see the fireworks on the 4th at the Air Force Academy, but it was pretty cold and wet so we waited until July 5th to see a great show up in Woodland Park. It's a cute mountain town about 20 minutes west of our house. A bit chilly compared to the triple digit 4ths Zack and I both grew up with in Oklahoma and California, but we weren't complaining a bit!
