Lazy Days

Glamor girl has to wear her glasses everywhere. She fell through the holes in her chair, but she was perfectly content hanging out that way!

Then she fell asleep on her ducks in the water! It was way past nap time...

Nola's water songs.

I love you

Nola's funny phrases lately, "I love you", "Moo Cow", and "Baby Cry". She said moo cow because she noticed the cow logo on her yogurt. You have to listen carefully for the "baby cry" she says it so fast.

Rainbow Parade

Zack is gone to be in a good friend's wedding in Tulsa, Mike Kimbrel and Jenn Mancuso - CONGRATS! I am still heartsick that I could not be there. More selfishly than anything, I wanted to go so bad to see all our amazing friends and just have a good time! With CARE Fair yesterday, the same day as the wedding, and not knowing when Rockwell would come, we just didn't plan right on this one. A tribute to Mike and his Kimbrelisms on the Seely blog 7.16.2008 http://www.seelys.blogspot.com/

Anyways.... since Zack is gone we didn't attempt church this morning, but instead went on a walk through Monument Valley Park to feed the ducks and then walked downtown to stop for coffee and feed Rockwell.

After about an hour in the coffee shop, we noticed the streets being blocked off downtown and I was wondering what sort of festival it was! So we packed up and we headed back out on the walk. I suddenly noticed rainbow pins, rainbow flags, rainbow beads, rainbow mohawks, rainbows EVERYWHERE!!! We were right in the middle of a Gay Pride Parade! I suddenly felt really out of place. Sorry, no photos to share on this one. But Nola learned the word "ainbow!" She's working on the letter R.

Here is a photo from Friday taken from Aunt Suzy's IPhone of Nola loving the swings (finally). She is getting more brave now that she feels a bit better. Tube surgery is scheduled for Aug. 7.

Anchorman

Today Rockwell was almost the anchorman for KKTV News Channel 11. I had an interview promoting the Junior League's CARE Fair on Saturday, a free children's health fair that I am chairing this year. I secured child care for Nola but thought it would be more convenient to bring Rockwell with me as a side kick.

Different from interviews I've done in the past to promote events, they had me wait on the set instead of in a side room! The whole time I was a bit nervous he would get gas and start wailing on air, but he didn't make a peep. He's really a great baby. Here are some funny shots I inconspicuously took of him as we waited. He's a real Ron Burgundy in the making.

Sweet Baby Rockwell

Here are Rockwell's 2 1/2 week old photos.

He is doing great! We forgot how easy newborns are compared to a 19 month old. Nola loves her little baby and her new favorite sentence is "baby cry!" and she laughs when he makes noise. She is the best garbage gal around and throws all his diapers away for me. It's been a fun game for her.

My family left yesterday, so this morning was the first day on our own. We went to get coffee and to the park before lunch. Since Rockwell is on a great schedule, Nola doesn't seem to care that he is with us, sleeping in his carrier.

We are so blessed to have this new family of 4! Thank you Lord for 2 healthy babies.

Happy Birthday America

We celebrated the 4th of July with Oma, Pops, and Uncle Ryan! My parents have been in town for over a week now and Uncle Ryan for the weekend!

Rockwell slept right though the fireworks, while Nola said "oooh, flower" and "boom" at each firework.

We watched the fireworks at the Air Force Academy with the Bender's for an amazing show. It just felt patriotic being at the Academy. There were 17 of us in all!

Nola is not feeling well, she has terrible tonsillitis and another ear infection so Monday we are scheduling a surgery to put tubes in her ears. Her eyes were about 1/2 open all day. She has been sick for about 5 months now on and off with chronic ear infections. Pray all goes well!
