Rockwell Arrives

To our surprise, baby Rockwell came 10 days early! Happy birthday Rockwell, and my mom, you share the same day!

Born June 19th 1:02 p.m.
6 lbs. 1 oz.
19 1/2 inches

After a good night sleep, we awoke to active labor Thursday at 6 a.m. Since I wasn't due yet, I was in denial and kept waiting for it to go away. We went to the hospital at 9 a.m. and I was already dilated to 8 cm!!!


Only 3 rounds of pushing and he came racing out!

I attribute the great labor and delivery to a few things...

• Second babies come quicker
• Our good friend, John Davis, who is one of the few specialists in the state for prenatal chiropractic - a miracle worker!
• Prenatal Yoga
• My amazing midwife Carol and her herbal tricks that help start labor. She has now delivered our two healthy babies! Praise the Lord for a healthy baby boy!

Baby Rockwell's Shower!

If you haven't heard by now, we are naming our son Rockwell Eldon Bender!

The middle name is after my Grandpa Richert who passed away when I was 10 years old. He was a wonderful man and left a great legacy for our family.

So, some of my girlfriends decided it would be unacceptable to clothe a baby named Rockwell in Nola's pink hand me downs, so they threw me a shower on Sunday! Thank you everyone who came. It's so fun to celebrate a new life coming into the world.
