Talkin' Baseball

Oma, Pops, and Uncle Ryan visited last weekend and we took Nola to see her first baseball game! The Rockies beat the Cubs at Coors Field and Nola cheered along all 9 innings. It was Uncle Ryan's birthday, but even Nola wasn't able to give the Cubbies enough luck to beat the Rockies!

When she wasn't mesmerized by the game, she cheered along with Oma!
The next day Nola was still talking about it! Funny girl likes to flaunt her giggles and teeth too!

No More Stalling - Nola is Crawling!

Nola can now crawl from room to room and she pulled up on her crib for the first time all by herself today. What milestones! Nola has such a big world to discover now!

Oma, Pops, and Uncle Ryan came to visit last weekend and Nola went to her 1st Rockies / Cubs game. We won! Sorry Uncle Ryan. When we get those pics off the camera, we'll post them. More later...

Here are some photos from a few weeks ago of Nola showing off her crawl on our bed. In the beginning, she thought it was much safer to fall on her face on the bed than on the hardwoods! She got some battle scar bumps, and I'm sure those won't be the first, but she's getting bolder and bolder by the day now!

I love the camera - I'm gonna get you Momma - Watch me go

Did I just crawl? - Will you join me? - Let's call it a day

"Nein" months today!

Nola turned 9 months old today! We can hardly believe how fast she is changing and growing before our eyes. She actually had her 9 month doc visit today and she's healthy as a lark and weighs 16 1/2 lbs. and is 28 inches long!

Nola is a curious little girl so instead of saying "no" to her we decided to focus on the positive, but there are still occasions when we need a word to capture her attention when she is into mischief. The word we use is the German translation for no, "Nein" and she sure perks up when she hears it! This way when we say "Nola" she doesn't get that confused with "no"

Here are some things Nola's been up to...
  • Da Da, Ba Ba, La La, and as of a few days ago she melts my heart with Ma Ma! She's been stuck on Ma Ma since it's new and I'm loving it! She is learning "Ry Ry" for her uncle Ryan's visit on Sat.
  • She knows the sign language for "more" and loves to do that at meal time!
  • Claps her hands when we say "yea"
  • Has 6 teeth, o my!
  • Eats the food we eat, chicken, cheese, crackers, even sandwich bites and she refuses to have her food ground and spoon fed to her now, she must feed herself chunks of food. Little Ms. Independent!
  • Pops up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth, so anytime we'll get an actual crawl out of her. She can army crawl backwards and she gets around pretty well.
  • Scoots on her rear all over the kitchen floor! We're glad Jade is around to be our dog vacuum.
